100’s of shades of green all around you, and all you can see is the road ahead of you.
Occasionally a spark of hot-pink fuchsia or golden gorse daffodils alert you to the fact that there may be a house in behind these stone walls that dot every bend along the way. I’ve pased the bustling city of Galway and into the Gaeltacht, driving endlessly into the stormy weather. But then the road begins to open and you glimpse some misty blue mountains in the distance.  Blues begin to slowly turn grey, then brown, and finally greens as each new rise in the road brings you closer and closer towards them.  And finally I am there – the wilderness of Ireland, the shining gem, Connemara.

I’ve only two days but I manage to explore, hike and bike each second of the day. Camera in hand…
