Stretching from the town of Kinsale out to the Mizen lighthouse and up to Bantry, lies some of Irelands best scenery and quaint Irish villages. Welcome to West Cork, a hiking and photographers dream. After leaving the city of Cork, the landscapes opens up and soaks you up. Although the weather can be (and will be) a bit rainy on and off, the scenery is gorgeous and so is the food! Think seafood chowder in Kinsale, crab sandwiches in Crookhaven and some delicious deserts of Ballymaloe and a breakfast in Clonakilty.

For hiking routes, you just need to leave your accommodation front door and look right or left. There is simply hundreds of hiking options. An hour, a day or a week! Sheeps head, Mizen head, or the looped walks of Schull and Glengarriff.

After a few days you’ll realise West Cork is spoiled with some of the best walking routes in the country.
