Each year the worlds greatest sailing vessels take to the waters to compete in the annual Tall Ships race. The races are designed to encourage international friendship and training for young people in the art of sailing. The races are held annually in European waters and consists of two racing legs of several hundred nautical miles. In 2011, I took part in the race sailing onboard The Sørlandet, the oldest fully rigged ship in the world.
