Like many South American destinations Chile is a country of startling contrasts and extreme beauty, with attractions ranging from the towering volcanic peaks of the Andes to the ancient forests of the Lake District. If the season is right, head down South towards Patagonia for glacier treks and mountainous adventures. In Central Chile the everlasting smog in Santiago makes skylines and contrast difficult to obtain. Nevertheless, their are many colorful neighborhoods and surrounding cities blasting with vibrant colors, art and culture. The people are warm and accommodating, the distances long, and the scenery spectacular. For anyone fascinated by geography, Chile is the most interesting of places.
