Northern Ireland’s Tullymore Forest

Is this the most beautiful forest you’ve ever seen?
Located in County Down in Northern Ireland, Tullymore forest is one of the highlights of any visit to the region. With flowing rivers under ancient bridges, and nature as far as the eye can see it really is a perfect getaway location to clear the mind.

Famous for being one of Game of Thrones’ filming location, the forest is easily accessible from Dublin, or Belfast (about 2 hours either way).

I recently visited in late October, where Autumn had just begun to cause all the leaves to slowly fall from the trees above…

Stepping stones cross the river…

The Hermitage is a small stone shelter which dates back to the 1770s, built into the side of the gorge above the river and was used as a place for ladies to shelter while the men fished…
